Biography
Gordon A. Madsen served as Deputy District Attorney (2 years) in the Third Judicial District (Salt Lake, Toole, Summit and Daggett Counties) and for four years as Assistant Attorney General (Utah). He was elected to the Utah House of Representatives (1969-71). Thereafter, at disparate times he was appointed to and served on the Utah State Constitutional Revision Commission, the Utah Judicial Qualifications Commission and the Judicial Nominating Commission (Third District). After 52 years of practice in several Salt Lake firms, he retired and is now occupied as senior editor of the Joseh Smith Papers, Legal Series, in connection with which he lectures in the "Joseph Smith and the Law" class.
