Biography
Professor Tenney is a legal writing instructor in the LLM program. Professor Tenney graduated cum laude from the J. Reuben Clark Law School in 2003, where he was selected to the Order of the Barristers, was the brief writer for the National Moot Court Team, and received the John S. Welch Award for Legal Writing.
Professor Tenney clerked for Judge Norman Jackson of the Utah Court of Appeals following graduation, after which he spent several years in private practice. Professor Tenney is currently an Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Appeals Division of the Utah Attorney General's Office. Professor Tenney has briefed and argued cases in front of the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Utah Supreme Court, and the Utah Court of Appeals. In the fall of 2008, he drafted an amicus brief on behalf of Utah and 38 other states that was filed with the United States Supreme Court in Vermont v. Brillon.
